The apostle John records…”the angel said to me, Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb…these are true words that come from God.” Revelation 19:9 (NLT)
The written word was so important to God, that he gave us the Bible. It was recorded by over 40 authors who lived during a 1,500-year period who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is regarded as a highly reliable book by Christians and historians alike.
In John 1:1, it says, “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (NLT) God is the very essence of the writing.
There are many references to writing, words, speaking and relaying messages in the bible. It is amazing that the Holy Scriptures are God’s actual words for us to read. He loves us so much that He revealed Himself to us in the Bible so we can know Him intimately.
When Jesus came to earth, he fulfilled many prophecies from the Old Testament. In Micah 5:2, the prophet Micah prophesied that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel…”
Isaiah 9:6 says, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” We can have complete faith in God’s word because he has proven Himself trustworthy.
In other places, God shows his concern for accurate speaking and writing to make things clear to people. Habakkuk 2:2-3, says, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” (NIV)
In Acts 2:17-18, it says, “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.”(NIV)
God is interested in what we speak and write. We need to let Him infuse His Holy Spirit through us so that we are saying exactly what He desires.
My prayer is: Word of Life, help me to write and speak the words you want to convey. May I be a vessel of your Holy Spirit. AMEN.
He is certainly pouring it out! Good word! Thanks for sharing!

Good morning, Myrna, Found your post here this morning and found a kindred spirit!! A woman who loves the Lord and HIs Word who is from my home area. Which may be why your name is so familiar. I remember going to Zeeland High School with Folkerts! And my whole family is still living in the west Michigan area. I fell in love with a fellow who was preparing for the ministry so I was the one who moved away !! I look forward to reading more of your blogs. Barbara (Van Haitsma) Boer
